Queens of the Stone Age Debut New Flamenco-Inspired Track as Tour Launches

Queens of the Stone Age kicked off their Catacombs Tour at The Chicago Theatre, debuting a new song called “Easy Street.” This track features a mix of acoustic elements and hand-clapping rhythms. Fans quickly noted its resemblance to David Bowie’s Let’s Dance era on social media. One fan remarked, “This does not sound like QOTSA at all! And I don’t mean it in a bad way,” highlighting its “Flamenco vibe” and calling it “maybe the most catchy thing they played tonight.”

The band also treated the audience to some deep cuts from their earlier albums, including “Mosquito Song” and “You Got a Killer Scene There, Man,” the latter of which was performed live for the first time since 2007. The Catacombs Tour takes its name from their latest live album, recorded in the depths of Paris. The tour was inspired by the band’s experiences while creating their cinematic and musical project, Alive in the Catacombs.

This tour features new arrangements and includes string and horn sections, adding fresh twists to their sound. The band promises unique and intimate performances that fans won’t want to miss.

The Catacombs Tour includes a limited series of special one-night-only shows at historic theaters across North America. Upcoming stops include New York’s Beacon Theatre, San Francisco’s Davies Symphony Hall, and LA’s Dolby Theater, running until November 21. After that, the band will head to Europe for shows in Milan, Berlin, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Antwerp, and London’s Royal Albert Hall.

Fans can find more information and tickets for upcoming shows on the band’s official channels.
