ABC is set to honor guitar legend Ace Frehley, who passed away on October 16 at the age of 74 due to a brain bleed from a fall. The late-night music show Rage will feature rare KISS clips, including their iconic 1980 performance from the top of New York’s World Trade Center.
Starting just after midnight, fans can enjoy classic KISS songs along with Frehley’s solo work. Rage will showcase KISS music videos like “Talk To Me,” “I Was Made for Loving You,” “I Want You,” “Sure Know Something,” “Shout It Out Loud,” “Shandi,” and “Psycho Circus,” which was Ace’s last official music video with the band. The show will also include solo clips from Frehley’s Comet, featuring tracks like “Into The Night,” “Insane,” and “Do Ya.”
KISS members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley expressed their sorrow over Frehley’s passing. They called him “an essential and irreplaceable rock soldier” during the band’s early years and emphasized that he will always be part of KISS’s legacy.
Frehley taught himself to play guitar at just 13 years old. His unique style pushed boundaries, using smoke bombs and lights in his performances. He wrote memorable hits like “Cold Gin,” “Parasite,” and “Shock Me.” His last performance with KISS was during the MTV Unplugged show in 1996, where his acoustic rendition of “Beth” received high praise from fans.
Don’t miss the full tribute show on Rage on October 24 at 12:18 a.m. It’s a great chance to celebrate the music and legacy of Ace Frehley.
