Five Finger Death Punch and BABYMETAL have made waves on the Japanese iTunes Metal Chart with their new single, “The End.” This track has made history as the first song featuring Japanese lyrics to break into the Top 5 at US Rock radio. It also reached #18 on the Japanese All-Genres Chart.
On Saturday, November 1, Ivan Moody and Zoltan Bathory joined BABYMETAL at their sold-out show at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles. The artists were presented with a plaque to celebrate their successful collaboration.
Bathory expressed his excitement, saying, “This was an amazing way to celebrate a collaboration that turned into a chart-topping moment for both of us. We’re currently working on our 10th studio album and planning our 20th-anniversary world tour. Japan has always shown us so much love, and we might even share a stage with BABYMETAL again.”
Su-Metal, the vocalist of BABYMETAL, reminisced about their past performance together at a festival in 2015. She shared, “I sang Japanese lyrics inspired by ‘The End’ and spent a lot of time finding the right voice for such a deep track. My favorite moment is when my voice flows into Ivan’s growl — it gave me chills.”
“The End” is the lead single from Five Finger Death Punch’s upcoming Best Of — Volume 2 album, which features 16 re-recorded classics and live versions of fan favorites like “Wash It All Away” and “Jekyll and Hyde.” The band re-recorded these songs after their original masters were sold without their knowledge.
Earlier this year, Best Of — Volume 1 included a new version of “The Trench,” which hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart in July, marking a strong start to their anniversary celebrations.
