Mötley Crüe is set to release a special 40th Anniversary edition of their album *Theatre of Pain* on November 14. This package celebrates four decades since the band’s third studio album hit the shelves.
The anniversary edition includes a remastered version of the album on colored vinyl, complete with new artwork. Fans will also get a never-before-heard concert recording from 1985 in Long Beach, along with rare demo tracks. To top it off, there’s a 76-page hardcover book filled with unseen photos and stories from that time.
*Theatre of Pain* was released in June 1985 and features the hit single “Home Sweet Home,” which reached No. 16 on the charts and became the band’s first Top 20 hit in the U.S. The ballad was a massive success on MTV, dominating request charts for over 90 days. The album itself peaked at No. 6 on the U.S. charts, marking a significant milestone for Mötley Crüe. They also released a live version of “Smokin’ in the Boys Room” from the Long Beach concert as a preview track from the box set. The album earned quadruple-platinum status in the U.S. and triple platinum in Canada.
In addition to the deluxe edition, the anniversary release will be available in standard CD, vinyl, and Dolby Atmos audio formats. Exclusive variants will be available at Walmart, Amazon, Urban Outfitters, and independent record stores. A cassette edition will be sold exclusively at select retailers.
Preorders are open now. The band promises that this definitive set captures the energy and spirit of their peak years and will be available for a limited time.
