Disturbed is taking an open-ended break from touring after finishing their 25th-anniversary tour for *The Sickness* on October 28. Bassist John Moyer explained that this break is normal for bands after a tour. He noted that some media outlets are making a big deal out of it, but it’s just standard practice.
“Every band takes a break after they tour. There’s nothing special about this,” Moyer said. He added that lead singer David Draiman recently got married and might want to spend some time with his new wife before hitting the road again. “Everything’s great. Just a thought,” Moyer mentioned.
The band has been busy writing and recording over the past two years. They have new material ready, but Moyer said they want to make sure the timing and concept are right before releasing it. “There’s no shortage of music coming from Disturbed. We’ve been working in the studio, and there’s a lot of great stuff that’s going to be released,” he said.
When it comes to releasing new music, Moyer explained that it depends on several factors. “It’s just a matter of which songs are right for us and what the concept is,” he said.
As of now, there’s no set timeline for the new music. The anniversary tour was a significant milestone for the Chicago-based metal band, which has been rocking since 1994. Fans can look forward to more updates as the band takes this well-deserved break.
