The Warning and Carín León Collaborate on English Debut Single ‘Love to Be Loved’

The Warning, a rock sister trio from Monterrey, Mexico, released a new single with Mexican artist Carín León on February 6. This song, titled “Love to Be Loved,” is León’s first track sung entirely in English. The song blends rock, country, and pop elements and was released through Lava/Republic Records. The Villarreal sisters—Daniela, Paulina, and Alejandra—co-wrote the song with Teddy Swims, Rob Grimaldi, Anton DeLost, Boy Matthews, and Neil Ormandy, with Grimaldi and DeLost handling production.

The band expressed their excitement about the collaboration, saying, “As a rock band, this is something completely different for us and a chance to explore new sounds. Blending musical worlds is always exciting, and working with Carín León made the experience even more special. It’s a collaboration that pushed us creatively and shows a new side of The Warning.”

Just before the release, León won a GRAMMY and shared his enthusiasm for the project. He said, “I’m truly happy and excited about this collaboration with The Warning, a band I deeply admire. It reaffirms that Mexican music and rock are more present and stronger than ever.”

The Warning formed in 2013 and gained popularity with their YouTube covers, including a viral version of Metallica’s song. They signed with Lava Records in 2020 and have opened for major bands like Foo Fighters and Guns N’ Roses. In 2025, they released a live album recorded in front of 30,000 fans.

The band recently performed at the Super Bowl as special guests for NFL Mexico and will be at Lollapalooza in March. Starting in April, they will support Yungblud on tour across the UK and the US, with stops at Radio City Music Hall and The O2.
