Jack Osbourne shared that his father, Ozzy Osbourne, felt a deep sense of happiness after his final show in Birmingham, England, in July 2025. Jack talked about this special moment on Billy Corgan’s channel, The Magnificent Others. They discussed Ozzy’s struggles with self-doubt throughout his career. Jack explained, “When left to his own devices, that kinda darkness of ‘I am less than, I suck, I’m not worthy’ would really take over.”
Corgan mentioned a conversation with photographer Ross Halfin, who has worked with Ozzy since the 1970s. Halfin revealed that after every performance, Ozzy would often feel embarrassed and surprised by the crowd’s reaction. However, the Birmingham show was different. “Oh, he was so happy. It was the craziest thing. I ran into the dressing room, and I was like, ‘You did it!’” Jack recalled, getting emotional. “I’m only crying because of [my father’s] joy. He was so happy.”
Sadly, Ozzy passed away from a heart attack just 17 days after that farewell show at the age of 76. The concert featured both solo hits and Black Sabbath classics, taking place in the band’s hometown. Jack described his father’s last morning as normal. “He woke up, went downstairs, made some breakfast, had a cup of coffee, and that was it,” he said.
Thousands of fans attended the funeral procession, which started at the site of Ozzy’s last gig and moved through the city center. At the 2026 GRAMMYs, artists like Post Malone, Slash, Chad Smith, and Duff McKagan performed to honor him. Yungblud also dedicated his first GRAMMY to the rock legend.
Jack announced that a biopic about Ozzy is in the works, with a “phenomenal actor” set to play the lead role, though no name has been revealed yet.
