Things To Do in Philadelphia This Weekend: May 15-May 17

Philadelphia’s weekend lineup is packed with exciting events, from a celebration of Franklin-era history to comedy shows, wine tasting, and a hip-hop double bill at the Liacouras Center. Whether you’re looking for a free community event or a fun night out, there’s plenty to enjoy this weekend, and next week looks just as busy.

One highlight is the celebration of America’s first hospital, Pennsylvania Hospital, co-founded by Ben Franklin in 1751. This event takes place on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 800 Spruce St. The event is free and features a commemorative sculpture by artist Derrick Ross, reflecting themes of care and community.

For comedy fans, Sommore, the “Queen of Comedy,” will perform at Helium Comedy Club on May 15-17, 2026. Shows are scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m. and 9:15 p.m., Saturday at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., and Sunday at 7 p.m. Tickets range from $45.21 for general admission to $207.43 for a couples package.

Wine lovers can enjoy the Philly Wine Fest at the Philadelphia Zoo on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from noon to 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $50.26 and include tastings from over a dozen wineries, live entertainment, and access to the zoo’s rare animals.
