Thirty Seconds to Mars will play the Athens Olympic Sports Complex on Tuesday, May 11, 2027. The show, which the band announced on social media, is part of the A Beautiful Lie vs. This Is War tour. Jared Leto and Shannon Leto front the band, and Tomo Miličević will rejoin them on the road.
The tour marks two albums, A Beautiful Lie and This Is War. Ticketmaster Hellas called the return of Tomo Miličević a rare, long-awaited reunion on stage. He played guitar for the band in its early years.
Dates are set across Europe, the UK, and South Africa, and more will be announced. The band last played Athens at Malakasa in 2015. Its visit before that came at Water Plaza in 2011.
Jared Leto and Shannon Leto started the band in California in 1998. Since then, it has sold over 15 million albums worldwide. Several MTV Awards and a Billboard Music Award sit on its shelf, per Ticketmaster.
The group also holds a Guinness World Record. Protothema said it was for the most shows played during an album cycle with 309 performances. Ticketmaster Hellas said it was for the most live shows during a single album cycle.
The band’s catalog begins with the 2002 debut 30 Seconds to Mars. A Beautiful Lie followed in 2005, then This Is War in 2009, Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams in 2013, and America in 2018. The sixth studio album, It’s The End Of The World But It’s A Beautiful Day, arrived in 2023. The video for “A Beautiful Lie” was shot in Greenland.
In 2026, the band marked 20 years of A Beautiful Lie with a reissue. Four songs never released before are on it, including an acoustic take on “The Kill.” A new music video looks back at the band’s history and its bond with fans.
Jared Leto, 54, has worked as an actor too. He won an Oscar and a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor for the 2013 film Dallas Buyers Club.
Advance ticket sales for the Athens concert starts today, Thursday, Oct. 29.
