The Royal Mail To Honor Paul McCartney With Exclusive Stamp Collection

Paul McCartney is set to be honored by the Royal Mail with an exclusive stamp collection to be released on May 28. Made up of 12 stamps, the collection highlights key moments and releases in the multi-hyphenate musician’s decades-long career.

“Paul McCartney remains a vital figure at the center of rock and pop, an artist whose legacy is immense, but whose work continues to generate popular attention and critical acclaim,” said David Gold of the Royal Mail. “This dedicated stamp issue is a fitting tribute to one of the UK’s much loved and revered musical icons.”

Eight of the included stamps feature McCartney’s career-defining album covers, including Tug of War, McCartney II, Flaming Pie, and more.

The Royal Mail is offering McCartney’s stamp collection in the form of a variety of packages. Offers include limited edition prestige stamp books, framed stamp sets, stamp artwork souvenir folders, miniature sheet packs, and more. More information on the available collections can be found on the official Royal Mail website and are available for pre-order.

The Paul McCartney Bundle, the ultimate stamp issue collection, includes the full set of special stamps, a miniature sheet carrier card and exclusive photos and illustrations from throughout McCartney’s career with commentary from journalist Alexis Petridis.

The Royal Mail has previously honored Elton John, David Bowie, Queen, Pink Floyd, and the Beatles with exclusive stamp collections.

McCartney’s collection spans from the beginning of his solo career through his most recent release, 2020’s McCartney III.

The musician recently announced McCartney III Imagined CD box sets available on his official website alongside a collection of merchandise. McCartney III, originally released in December via Capitol Records, topped the UK Official Albums Chart as his first No. 1 solo album in 31 years. The project reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 albums chart as his eighteenth Top 10 album in the states.
