Metallica has had a lot of success raising funds through livestreams during the coronavirus pandemic. During the original run of #MetallicaMondays last year, fans donated over $100,000 to the All Within My Hands Foundation which partners with Feeding America, a non-profit that serves more than 200 food banks in the country.

In November 2020, Metallica hosted another livestream event and raised over $1.3 million. The event also featured an online auction with a number of items, including some of the instruments the band played during that performance.
