Bas Recruits J. Cole and Lil Tjay for New Song ‘The Jackie’

Dreamville’s Bas has delivered a summer anthem like no other with “The Jackie” feat. J. Cole and Lil Tjay. The title is inspired by the well-known Jackie Robinson Highway in New York–a lovely ode to Bas and Lil Tjay’s hometown as well as a second home for J.Cole.

The catchy hook and adventure-filled video will have fans recognizing notable cameos from comedians Mark Phillips and Leland. Phillips’ is known for his infamous YouTube skits where he parodies J. Cole’s devoted fans. Shocked by “spotting” Bas and Cole, Phillips breaks out into his signature character.

A melodic Bas glides on the T-Minus produced single as he shows love to one special woman. The GRAMMY-nominated artist is a delight alongside J. Cole and Lil Tjay, who teased the tune back in June. The video represents the alluring summer energy that can only be found in New York with parties from block to block.

Bas’ new single arrives just after his recent collaboration with British songwriting duo Jungle, who tapped the rapper for “Romeo,” with Bas serving as their first ever featured artist on a track. He was also featured on three tracks on J.Cole’s critically acclaimed The Off-Season. Bas has also been tapped for several upcoming festivals including Day N Vegas, Rolling Loud and the highly anticipated Dreamville Festival.

Bas’ label boss, J. Cole, has also been busy of late promoting The Off-Season. Cole recently announced a U.S. tour in support of the new album. The 17-date trek will launch September 24 at the FTX Arena in Miami and wrap October 21 at the Forum in Los Angeles. 21 Savage will provide support throughout the tour, as will Morray. Tickets for all shows will go on sale June 25 at 10 a.m. local time. Cole will also hit cities like Atlanta, Brooklyn, Chicago, Houston, and more.
