Metallica Foundation Auctions “Hetskid” Track Loader to Fund Trade Education

Proceeds from the custom CASE compact track loader will directly support the Metallica Scholars Initiative.

Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation is auctioning a CASE TV450B compact track loader through Dec. 17 on the Purple Wave auction website. Commissioned in 2024 by band frontman James Hetfield as part of an equipment supply agreement with CASE, the machine was manufactured in Wichita and is the first of 25 “Hetskid” units. Bidding opened over Labor Day weekend for the track loader, which mirrors a model designed for Hetfield’s personal ranch.

All proceeds from the sale, along with a donated 10 percent buyer’s premium from Purple Wave, will go to the foundation’s Metallica Scholars Initiative to support career and technical education. Founded in 2017 by Metallica members and management, All Within My Hands covers its own administrative expenses to ensure all donations directly benefit its causes, which include workforce education, food insecurity relief, and disaster relief assistance.
