Simon Neil of Biffy Clyro reflects on the legacy of ‘Many of Horror’: ‘I’m grateful it means something to people’

Biffy Clyro’s Simon Neil is excited as the band kicks off their U.S. tour in Los Angeles on Monday. This tour supports their latest album, “Futique,” released in 2025, and gives fans a chance to hear their classic hit “Many of Horror” live.

Neil shared his feelings about the song, saying, “Everyone’s singing that song at the top of their lungs. I just step away from the microphone, and almost every night I have a tear in my eye because I can’t believe it.” He added, “It’s all I’ve ever dreamed of as someone who’s lived their life through music. To have this song, now 15 or 16 years old, still resonate with people is something I’m very grateful for.”

He reflected on why “Many of Horror” has such a strong connection with fans. Neil believes it shows the unpredictable nature of music. “There are songs I’ve written that I thought were great, but no one cared,” he said. “That’s the beauty of music. I still think I’m going to write my best song next week.”

Neil also emphasized the shared experience that “Many of Horror” creates. “You catch eyes with someone and sing a line together, and you just have this moment of understanding each other,” he explained. “It might be the only three seconds you look at each other at a gig, and I love that this song can bring that out in people.
