Jake Kiszka, known for his guitar skills with Greta Van Fleet, is stepping into new territory with his new band, Mirador. Their debut album will be released on September 19 through Republic Records. Kiszka teamed up with Chris Turpin from Ida Mae to create a unique sound that blends raw blues with folk elements across 12 tracks.
āIāve always written music with my brothers, so this is a different experience for me,ā Kiszka shared. The band also features Nick Pini on bass and keys, and Mikey Sorbello on drums. They recorded the album at Peter Gabrielās Real World Studios in Bath, with producer Dave Cobb at the helm.
The magic began when Kiszka and Turpin met at Kiszkaās home in East Nashville. After three days of intense collaboration, they created seven songs, including āFeels Like Gold,ā āRaider,ā and the haunting āSkyway Drifter.ā Fans got an early taste of their music during recent Greta Van Fleet shows, where the crowd responded enthusiastically, singing along to many of the new songs.
Kiszka and Turpinās first collaboration was on Ida Maeās 2021 track, āClick Click Domino.ā When discussing their new project, Turpin emphasized the need for a serious approach and capturing a live feel in their recordings.
Interestingly, the bandās name, Mirador, came from a simple typing mistake. Kiszka meant to type āMarauder,ā but his fingers slipped, and the name stuck. It reflects their musical vision perfectly.
If youāre interested in catching Mirador live, tickets are available now. Donāt miss out on this exciting new chapter in Kiszkaās musical journey!Ā
