Hobo Johnson Brings His Viral Sensation to Philly

On November 14th, Hobo Johnson and the Lovemakers made their way to the city of brotherly love during their “Bring Your Mom Tour”. The opening act was singer-songwriter and comic book artist Jeffrey Lewis. He had a very cool anti-folk indie style and incorporated short films using comics he drew to keep the audience engaged. This was a new experience for me and it was very enjoyable! The next to perform was Oliver Tree. Dressed head to toe in vintage 90s gear, Oliver Tree put on a display of quirky dance moves and promoted acceptance of who you are and how you look. The main performance, Hobo Johnson, performed with more emotion than in any of his viral videos. You could feel the passion he has through his tone of voice and you could tell that the whole crowd was vibing with him. Hobo performed some of his most famous songs like Peach Scone, Romeo & Juliet, and Creve Couer 1, as well as many other songs off of his 2017 project “The Rise of Hobo Johnson”.
