Garbage Returns to Madison for Sold-Out Concert

On October 3, Garbage played to a sold-out crowd at The Sylvee in Madison as part of their Happy Endings tour. This was their first show in Wisconsin’s capital since 2018, and fans were excited to see them back in their hometown. The band performed a mix of new songs from their latest album, *Let All That We Imagine Be The Light*, along with classic hits from their Smart Studios days.

The concert came after a seven-month delay. A planned show in June at Breese Stevens Field was canceled due to smoke from Canadian wildfires. On social media, the band announced their new album is out now and encouraged fans to stream, watch, or buy it.

While they called this their final major tour, they hinted at the possibility of more intimate shows in Madison, which thrilled the audience. Garbage has deep roots in the city, dating back to 1994 when Butch Vig and Steve Marker from Smart Studios teamed up with bassist Duke Erikson, known for his work with Spooner.

During the concert, Erikson took a moment to honor his late friend Dave Benton, raising a glass in tribute. Benton, who passed away from sarcoma in September, had his last performance during a reunion at Atwood Music Hall in July.

The energy in the venue was electric, with Madison’s music fans showing their unwavering support for the band. Even after three decades, the connection between Garbage and the city remains strong as they wrap up their touring schedule. For those interested, upcoming concert dates and ticket information are available online.
