Swedish metal band Sabaton has postponed their North American tour due to health issues with bassist Pär Sundström. Doctors have found inflammation in his arms, and he needs time to rest and recover. The tour was set to kick off on February 9 and run through April 20, featuring shows across the United States and Canada.
In a statement, the band said, “Pär is currently dealing with inflammation in his arms, and after seeking medical advice, he’s been told to rest for now so he can properly heal. Performing on stage means everything to us, but health must come first.”
The tour was expected to include opening acts Pop Evil and Wings of Steel, with stops planned in cities like Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, Minneapolis, Chicago, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, and more. Fans can keep their tickets, and the band will notify ticketholders via email when new dates are announced.
While the North American shows are postponed, Sabaton’s summer concerts in Europe are still on. These shows will take place in May and June, hitting countries like Poland, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Croatia, Belgium, Spain, Bulgaria, Greece, and Romania.
Sabaton formed in December 1999 in Falun, Sweden. They signed with Black Lodge Records in 2005 and released their first album, “Primo Victoria,” followed by “Metalizer” in 2006. The band has released 11 studio albums, four live records, five live DVDs, and 29 music videos. Their songs often tell stories about historical wars and battles. The North American tour was part of “The Legendary Tour,” supporting their latest album, “Legends,” which came out on October 17, 2025. The current lineup includes Pär Sundström, Joakim Brodén, Chris Rörland, Hannes Van Dahl, and Thobbe Englund, who rejoined the band in February 2024.
