Queens of the Stone Age kicked off the 2026 leg of their Catacombs tour on Friday in Joshua Tree, California. The show featured a special surprise: former bassist Nick Oliveri joined the band on stage. He played “Auto Pilot,” a track from their album Rated R. This was Oliveri’s first live performance with the band since 2014 and only the second time since he left in 2004.
Queens shared photos from the concert on Instagram, including one with Oliveri. The caption celebrated the vibrant crowd, saying, “There were more desert freaks per square foot than any other show last night & it made me proud to celebrate among my people.”
The tour will continue on Monday in Portland, Oregon.
