Beastie Boys member Mike D has just released his first solo single, titled “Switch Up.” The track is now available on digital platforms, and you can check out its visualizer on YouTube. In an Instagram post, Mike shared his excitement, saying, “I know we are not putting anybody into space and there are a lot of huge problems in our world right now… I woke up today and was like ‘s*. Switch Up comes out tonight.’ Hoping it brings some happiness for all y’all.”
This release comes alongside Mike’s announcement of four solo shows in Los Angeles and New York City, with the first show happening Thursday in LA. All the shows are sold out. The Beastie Boys disbanded in 2012 after the passing of Adam “MCA” Yauch.
