Neil Young’s 1995 album, Mirror Ball, featuring Pearl Jam, is being reissued for the first time in over 30 years. This new release comes after it was included in Young’s Official Release Series Volume 6 last October. Now, fans can get it as a standalone album on CD and vinyl, available for preorder on Pearl Jam’s website. Shipping starts on May 22.
Released on June 27, 1995, Mirror Ball is listed under Neil Young’s name due to legal issues with the record labels. However, the members of Pearl Jam are acknowledged in the album’s liner notes. The album reached #5 on the Billboard 200 and was certified Gold by the RIAA. In December 1995, Pearl Jam also released the EP Merkin Ball, which included two songs recorded during the Mirror Ball sessions: “I Got Id” and “Long Road.
