Foo Fighters pay tribute to their roots on ‘The Late Show’ with a mashup of ‘This Is a Call’ and ‘Everlong’

The Foo Fighters recently paid tribute to their history on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” During their performance on May 13, 2026, they shared a special medley featuring “This Is a Call” and “Everlong.” “This Is a Call” was the first song they played on the show back in 1995 when it was hosted by David Letterman. They followed it up with “Everlong,” which they performed on Letterman’s final episode in 2015.

Stephen Colbert’s time as host is coming to an end on May 21, so this performance holds extra significance. Fans can catch the Foo Fighters’ medley now on the Late Show’s YouTube channel.

Looking ahead, the Foo Fighters will kick off a North American stadium tour in August to promote their new album, “Your Favorite Toy.
