The Afghan Whigs have announced a new album and tour. Their upcoming album, titled *Soft Control*, will be released on August 21. Fans can now listen to the new single “Jungle Roux,” which is available on streaming platforms. This will be the band’s first album since 2022’s *How Do You Burn?* and will also feature previously released songs “House of I” and “Duvateen.”
Along with the album, The Afghan Whigs will hit the road for a tour in Europe and North America this fall. The tour kicks off on September 19 in Leeds, England, and the North American leg starts on November 4 in Orlando, Florida, wrapping up on November 21 in Austin, Texas. Tickets will be available for purchase on the band’s website starting Friday.
Frontman Greg Dulli shared his thoughts on *Soft Control*, saying he has “worked hard on my inner peace” and feels he is no longer “an angry young man.” He expressed a sense of quiet confidence, stating, “Now, I know what I’m doing and there’s a quiet confidence that comes with being able to back it up.
