Additional showtimes have been added at 39 IMAX screens across the United States from Sept. 17 to Sept. 30.
Christopher Nolan’s film adaptation of Homer’s epic poem, The Odyssey, is extending its 70mm IMAX run throughout the month of September. This extension brings the film’s large-format run to a total of 11 weeks, with additional showtimes added at 39 IMAX screens across the United States between Sept. 17 and Sept. 30. Initially released in theaters on July 17, The Odyssey is the first feature film shot entirely with IMAX cameras. It has grossed $1.55 billion at the global box office, becoming Nolan’s highest-grossing movie and the highest-grossing IMAX release in history.
The film stars Matt Damon as Odysseus, alongside Robert Pattinson, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, Zendaya, and Charlize Theron. The story depicts the Greek hero Odysseus’ 10-year journey home to Ithaca after the Trojan War as he tries to return to his wife, Penelope, and his son, Telemachus.
