Frontman Sully Erna confirmed the former Dream Theater member joined the band after Shannon Larkin and Tony Rombola left in 2024.
Godsmack frontman Sully Erna announced that former Dream Theater drummer Mike Mangini has joined the band as a permanent member following the departures of Shannon Larkin and Tony Rombola in late 2024. Wade Murff briefly replaced Larkin in early May, but left after one month. Mangini subsequently stepped in and played his first concert with Godsmack on June 12 at Morton Amphitheater in Riverside, Missouri.
Erna praised the band’s current lineup, which now features both Mangini and Sam Bam Koltun alongside remaining long-time members. On May 1, the band released Live At Mohegan Sun—which was recorded on October 26, 2024, at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut—as a tribute to the previous lineup with Larkin and Rombola. Godsmack is currently on tour.
