The Trans-Siberian Orchestra will play two shows at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio on Dec. 12 as part of its 30th anniversary winter tour. This stop is billed as The Ghosts of Christmas Eve: The Best of TSO & More.
The band plans to mix familiar hits with new musical touches, according to the San Antonio Current. Organizers say this production will top last year’s show.Â
Paul O’Neill started the band as a home for the rock operas he was writing, according to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s website. The first album came out in 1996, and a film followed in 1999. That same year, the band hit the road.
Since then, TSO has played more than 2,000 winter tour shows for over 20 million fans. The Ghosts of Christmas Eve later drew the group a much wider audience.
Vocalist Kayla Reeves joined the band at age 17. “I consider this like my education, my college,” Reeves said. Guitarist and musical director Al Pitrelli also took part in the interview.
TSO knows San Antonio well. The band gave two shows at the arena on Dec. 27, 2024, and two more on Dec. 21, 2025, at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Last year, tickets cost between $55 and $174, and the show paid tribute to the 25th anniversary of the album Beethoven’s Last Night.
Giving to charity has been part of the band’s mission from the start. O’Neill wanted $1 from every ticket sold to go to a good cause. The venue says TSO has donated more than $20 million from its tours to local charities across the country.
Tickets for the Dec. 12 shows are on sale through Ticketmaster.
