Turnstile Concert at Washington Monument Raises More Than $200,000 for Humanitarian Aid in Palestine, Sudan, and Lebanon

Turnstile played a free benefit show at the Washington Monument in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, Oct. 24. It raised more than $200,000 for humanitarian relief in Palestine, Sudan, and Lebanon. Organizers estimated that about 60,000 people came, Rolling Stone reports.

The Baltimore hardcore band worked with Human Concern International on the event. Donations moved through a LaunchGood campaign. Before the music started, the campaign had already passed $150,000. It topped $209,000 once the show ended, and by Monday it had gone past $270,000.

The grounds filled up. Fans who couldn’t get inside stood at the barricades along the outer edge of the site and watched from there. Turnstile played for roughly 75 minutes, starting with “BIRDS” and closing with “T.L.C. (TURNSTILE LOVE CONNECTION).”

Midway through the set, frontman Brendan Yates thanked the crowd for backing the cause. “We’re so grateful to have been raised by this scene, one that taught us that music not only reflects the artist making it but the people and the world and the suffering and the joy that surrounds it,” Yates said during the show.

The show closed out the second North American leg of the Never Enough tour, which supports the band’s album Never Enough. Turnstile won two GRAMMYs in February. Earlier this month, it made its Saturday Night Live debut.

The spot carries weight in local punk history. The Washington Post reported that Fugazi, a Washington, D.C., band, played benefit shows at the Sylvan Theater on the National Mall in 1993 and 1995. The 1993 show drew roughly 5,000 people. Because of the size of the expected crowd, Turnstile built its own stage and skipped the Sylvan Theater.

One more North American date remains on the band’s 2026 calendar. Turnstile will play Camp Flog Gnaw in Los Angeles in November. Shows in Spain, Germany, and Denmark are planned for the first six months of 2027, along with Sonic Temple Festival in Columbus, Ohio. All dates are listed on their website.
