Foo Fighters are musical guests on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this week. Frontman Dave Grohl also sat down with host Jimmy Kimmel on Monday night for an interview.
The band is promoting its 12th studio album, Your Favorite Toy, which came out April 24. They’re also going on a world tour to promote it.
Singer Nayanna Holley joins the house band, The Cletones, every night of the residency.
This isn’t the band’s first late-night takeover. In October 2014, Foo Fighters played five nights on Late Show with David Letterman to promote the album Sonic Highways and an HBO documentary series of the same name, LateNighter reports.
That week, the band shined a light on the musicians who inspired the project. Zac Brown joined for a cover of Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs.” Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart played “Kick It Out.” Tony Joe White sat in for “Polk Salad Annie.”
One sketch had the band members show up as lawyers for a made-up firm called Grohl, Hawkins, Mendel, Shiflett, Smear and Associates. They promised to help viewers fight their legal battle against “foo.”
Kimmel’s show has hosted Foo Fighters three times before, in 2003, 2020, and 2021. Grohl has stopped by many times. In 2017, he even served as guest host on Halloween, dressed as David Letterman.
Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs every weeknight at 11:35 p.m. ET on ABC. Episodes stream the next day on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.
