Sophie’s BBQ, a popular restaurant in Greater Philadelphia, is expanding! They are teaming up with Love City Brewing to open a new location in Manayunk. Executive chef Greg Herman, who founded Sophie’s BBQ in Ardmore and Havertown, will lead the food program as Love City Manayunk’s official food partner. He will also handle catering for private events.
The grand opening for Love City Manayunk is set for Friday, May 8, from 4 p.m. to midnight at 4323 Main St. The original locations in Ardmore and Havertown will stay open, allowing Sophie’s BBQ to continue its legacy while reaching new fans through this exciting collaboration.
This new project is special for Herman, as he lived in Downtown Manayunk from 2015 to 2019, where he began his culinary journey. “This is a moment that has been a long time in coming,” Herman said. “After customer requests and popular demand, we are excited to bring our BBQ to historic Main Street in Manayunk.”
The menu at Love City Manayunk will include delicious options like smokehouse nachos, barbecue sliders, Candy Bacon Mac, pork belly burnt ends, Briskey Cheesesteak, smoked vegetarian meatloaf, BBQ Coffee Briskey, pulled chicken, pulled pork shoulder, a barbecue platter, St. Louis ribs, collard greens, macaroni and cheese, and butterscotch cornbread.
