The rock band has entered ‘Live at Mohegan Sun’ and ‘Battle of the Drums’ across three GRAMMY categories.
Godsmack has submitted its concert film, Live at Mohegan Sun, for GRAMMY consideration in the Best Music Film category. Additionally, the band submitted its drum showcase “Battle of the Drums” for Best Rock Performance as well as Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella, crediting frontman Sully Erna for the arrangement. The piece highlights a drum duet between Erna and drummer Shannon Larkin, a staple of the band’s live performances alongside guitarist Tony Rombola and bassist Robbie Merrill.
The Live at Mohegan Sun project is currently available through Primary Wave on double vinyl, Blu-ray, CD, and streaming platforms. A special limited-edition 12-inch picture disc featuring “Battle of the Drums” and “I Stand Alone” is scheduled to release on Nov. 27 for Record Store Day Black Friday. Godsmack will also screen the film in an interactive Stagepilot streaming event with an Erna Q&A, and perform live at the Mohegan Sun Arena on Oct. 24 as part of their Rise of Rock World Tour.
