Thom Yorke, the frontman of Radiohead, was honored at the 2026 Ivor Novello Awards. He received a special distinction by being inducted into the Fellowship of The Ivors Academy during the ceremony held on Thursday. This award is one of the highest honors in songwriting, recognizing excellence and impact in music creation.
Yorke is celebrated as one of the defining songwriters of his generation, known for his exceptional work with Radiohead and his solo projects. Pop star Harry Styles presented the award to Yorke and shared that Radiohead is his favorite band.
Other winners at the 2026 Ivors included Sam Fender, who took home the Songwriter of the Year award, and Lola Young, whose song “Messy” was named Most Performed Work. Linda Perry from 4 Non Blondes received the Special International Award.
