U2 members Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr. recently attended the 2026 Street Child World Cup Finals in Texcoco, Mexico. After filming their new music video in Mexico City, the band decided to stick around for the tournament. Mullen even participated by handling the coin toss for the game.
The event was organized by Street Child United, which aims to give street-connected young people a voice through sports. A total of 30 teams from around the world competed in the tournament. “We’re here in Mexico City and as usual loving every minute of it,” said The Edge. “As supporters of Street Child United, we wanted to come along today to support this great cause, see some football, and soak up the atmosphere. There’s no better town to host such a brilliant event.”
Earlier in the week, U2 shot a music video for their upcoming single “Street of Dreams” near Plaza Santo Domingo in Mexico City. This new track will be part of their yet-to-be-announced studio album, expected to be released later this year.
