A lively crowd packed the Mann Music Center on July 12 as fans gathered for a steamy night of classic rock from two legendary acts: Rod Stewart and Cheap Trick.

The night opened with Cheap Trick, who brought the fun right out of the gate with “California Man.” Their set featured hits like “Dream Police,” “I Want You to Want Me,” and “Surrender,” each one getting big reactions from the crowd. Robin Zander’s vocals still cut through with power, and Rick Nielsen delivered his signature guitar flair with energy and style. Their performance was tight, upbeat, and full of good vibes, getting fans on their feet early and singing along.

Around 9PM, Rod Stewart took the stage to roaring applause and jumped into “Infatuation.” Dressed sharp and flashing his trademark charm, he worked the stage with ease. His voice was strong throughout the night as he moved through a wide-ranging setlist that touched on every era of his career. Songs like “Tonight’s the Night,” “Forever Young,” and “Maggie May” were met with massive sing-alongs.

Rod Stewart mixed in covers like “Having a Party,” “It Takes Two,” and “I’d Rather Go Blind,” which let his soulful side shine. The show had humor, energy, and a few emotional moments. One highlight came with “Stay With Me,” a nod to his days with Faces, as the crowd swayed and sang every word.

His band was outstanding—tight rhythm section, horns, and talented backup singers made every song feel big. When he wrapped with “Some Guys Have All The Luck”,” fans were still on their feet, cheering for more.
