The Foo Fighters have just set another record! Their new hit, “Today’s Song,” has soared to No. 1, marking their 12th time at the top. No other band has achieved this milestone. This track celebrates the 30th anniversary of their self-titled debut album and jumped two spots in just one week. By July 17, it had over 5.5 million impressions.
But the success doesn’t stop there. “Today’s Song” also climbed to No. 6 on Alternative Airplay, reached No. 10 on Mainstream Rock Airplay, and hit No. 32 on Adult Alternative Airplay. Fans flocked to streaming platforms, racking up 1.3 million plays in the first week. This is their first chart-topping hit since “Under You,” which dominated the charts for six weeks in 2023. Just a few months ago, “The Glass” peaked at No. 5 in March.
The Foo Fighters’ first No. 1 song was “Wheels” back in November 2009. They now have 32 top 10 hits on Alternative Airplay, outpacing Green Day by four songs. They’ve also surpassed Shinedown on Mainstream Rock Airplay, setting a new record with 33 top 10 entries. Their latest album, But Here We Are, reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Alternative Albums chart in 2023 and has sold 198,000 equivalent album units and counting.
In a recent post, lead singer Dave Grohl shared, “Over the years, we’ve had moments of joy and heartbreak. We have followed this road together, for each other, no matter what. Because in life, you just can’t go it alone.” The Foo Fighters continue to inspire fans with their music and journey!
