Ozzy Osbourne has received many tributes lately, and now Google is joining in. When you search for him, the top of the page features scrolling text. Between two “sign of the horn” emojis, it says, “Thanks for the mayhem, Prince of Darkness.” The message is framed by a train and a caboose, a fun nod to his classic song “Crazy Train.”
Fans are also honoring Ozzy by streaming his music. His solo work and Black Sabbath tracks have seen a big boost on Spotify. Ozzy’s monthly listeners jumped from 12.4 million to 18.7 million. Meanwhile, Black Sabbath’s monthly listeners increased from 19.8 million to 24.6 million.
The three most-streamed solo songs by Ozzy are “Crazy Train,” “No More Tears,” and “Mama, I’m Coming Home.” These tracks gained an extra 8 million, 7 million, and 7.2 million streams, respectively. For Black Sabbath, the top three songs are “Paranoid,” “Iron Man,” and “War Pigs,” which saw additional streams of 9.3 million, 6 million, and 5 million.
It’s clear that fans are celebrating Ozzy’s legacy in a big way. Whether it’s through Google’s tribute or the surge in streaming numbers, the love for the Prince of Darkness is stronger than ever. Keep rocking, Ozzy!
