Metallica to Perform at Landmark Las Vegas Sphere Concerts in Fall 2026

Metallica is set to make waves in Las Vegas! The band is reportedly planning a residency at the Las Vegas Sphere in fall 2026. If the deal goes through, they will be the first metal band to perform at the stunning $2.3 billion venue.

Kirk Hammett expressed his excitement about the Sphere, saying, “Oh, heck, yeah! That’s a great example of how venues are changing. It really ups the levels of production and entertainment.” Since opening in September 2023 with U2, the Sphere has attracted huge crowds, with 700,000 fans attending 40 shows.

The Sphere stands 366 feet tall behind the Venetian Resort and features a massive 580,000-square-foot LED screen on its exterior. Inside, the experience is next-level. A giant 160,000-square-foot screen offers stunning 16K visuals, while special seats vibrate with the music. Smart climate systems keep fans comfortable, and the sound system can deliver different audio to specific areas.

Besides U2, other big names like Dead & Company, Phish, The Eagles, Kenny Chesney, and the Backstreet Boys have performed there. The venue also hosts sports events, including NHL drafts and UFC fights.

Before their Las Vegas shows, Metallica will be busy touring Europe from May to July 2026. They’ll perform in 11 cities, with 16 stadium shows kicking off in Athens and wrapping up in London. Fans can look forward to an unforgettable experience when Metallica takes the stage at the Sphere!
