Lzzy Hale has been open about many aspects of her life, including her recent decision to quit drinking. In a new interview, the Halestorm singer and guitarist shared her struggles with alcohol and how it affected her self-image. She reflected, “I think that if I had gone any further… I don’t know what would have happened with my relationship with my bandmates, my relationship with myself. That was the peak of it all.”
Hale made the choice to stop drinking in December 2023. She recalled a moment from April when her bandmate and partner, Joe Hottinger, found her at home, drunk and upset after consuming a bottle of Jägermeister. This experience pushed her to make a change.
Another topic Hale has been candid about is her bisexuality. She celebrated Pride Month with an Instagram post, proudly calling herself “unapologetically bisexual.” This theme is also present in Halestorm’s latest single, “Like A Woman Can,” from their new album, *Everest*. Hale described the song as Venus asking Mars to meet in the middle during a bisexual awakening. She explained, “This song poses more questions than answers because the answer belongs to the listener. I hope you enjoy this exploration of both emotion and soul-based musicality, and find yourself reflected in it.”
