The Smashing Pumpkins are celebrating 30 years of their iconic album, *Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness*, with a special 6LP reissue. This super deluxe edition features classic singles like “Bullet with Butterfly Wings,” “1979,” “Zero,” and “Tonight, Tonight.” It also includes over 80 minutes of unreleased audio from the Infinite Sadness Tour in 1996.
Fans will love the extras in this edition, which comes with a hardbound book containing new liner notes from Billy Corgan, a custom Tarot card set, and seven frameable lithographs. Everything is packaged in a velvet-wrapped slipcase and a cloth carrying bag.
If vinyl isn’t your thing, the album will also be available as a 4CD set, a 4CD SHM-CD package, and in digital formats. *Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness* is celebrated for its ambitious sound and emotional depth. It earned the band seven Grammy nominations, including Album of the Year and Record of the Year, and is considered one of the greatest albums of all time.
Billy Corgan reflected on the album, saying, “I wrote over 50 songs and we recorded a lot of material. Mellon Collie is a very dark album, but there’s something about that darkness that really resonated.”
Earlier this year, The Smashing Pumpkins also released a box set for *Machina*, their final album before their 2000 breakup, to mark its 25th anniversary.
You can order the 30th Anniversary Edition of *Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness* on vinyl or CD now.
