Limp Bizkit Takes the Stage Again, Honoring Late Bassist Sam Rivers During Mexico City Concert

Limp Bizkit took the stage for the first time since the passing of co-founder Sam Rivers. The concert took place at Estadio Fray Nano in Mexico City on Saturday. During the performance, a heartfelt video tribute played, featuring messages like “Sam Rivers, our brother forever” and “Sam Rivers, we love you forever.” The band members watched the tribute with the crowd, embracing as fans chanted Rivers’ name.

Richie Buxton, known as Kid Not, filled in on bass for the show. Before the concert, drummer John Otto shared his feelings on Instagram. “Today is going to be tough,” he wrote. “A first I never wanted to experience.” He reflected on his memories with Rivers, saying, “You’ve been there for so many major firsts in my life. We grew up together, laughed together, and traveled the world together.”

Sam Rivers passed away on October 18 at the age of 48. The band released a statement saying, “Sam Rivers wasn’t just our bass player — he was pure magic. The pulse beneath every song, the calm in the chaos, the soul in the sound.” Rivers had left the band in 2015 due to health issues but returned in 2018 and remained until his death. His last performance was at the Leeds Festival in August.

The Mexico City show kicked off Limp Bizkit’s Loserville Gringo Papi Tour 2025. The tour will travel across South America, with upcoming shows in Costa Rica on December 2, Colombia on December 5, Peru on December 9, Chile on December 13, Argentina on December 16, and Brazil on December 20. Fans can stay tuned for more tour updates.
