Linkin Park’s 2003 Hit ‘Somewhere I Belong’ Makes Global Chart Debut After 23 Years

Linkin Park’s “Somewhere I Belong” has made its debut on the Billboard Global 200 chart this week, landing at No. 193. This song was the lead single from their second album, Meteora, which came out in spring 2003. This marks the band’s 18th entry on the Billboard Global 200, a chart that tracks global sales and streaming data. However, this is the lowest peak for any Linkin Park song on this chart, with “One Step Closer” previously holding the lowest spot at No. 184.

In addition to “Somewhere I Belong,” two other Linkin Park tracks are also on this week’s Billboard Global 200. “In the End” climbed to No. 78, while “Numb” jumped to No. 124. Both songs are also featured on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, which excludes American sales and streams. “In the End” is at No. 84, and “Numb” moved up 25 spots to No. 135.

“Somewhere I Belong” has reached a new peak on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart in the U.S., rising to No. 8 after 26 weeks. “In the End” remains at No. 2, and “Numb” has moved from No. 8 to No. 7.

Linkin Park released Meteora following the success of their debut album, Hybrid Theory, which featured hits like “One Step Closer” and “In the End.” The band was a major force in bringing nu-metal to mainstream audiences in the early 2000s.

After the tragic passing of lead vocalist Chester Bennington in 2017, the band reunited in 2024 with new vocalist Emily Armstrong and drummer Colin Brittain, alongside original members Mike Shinoda, Joe Hahn, Brad Delson, and Dave “Phoenix” Farrell. They kicked off their From Zero World Tour on November 15, 2025, with upcoming shows in Bengaluru, India, on January 23 and a headlining spot at Lollapalooza in Mumbai on January 25. Fans can check out all tour dates and grab tickets soon!
