Shinedown surprised fans at a recent concert by playing a deep cut at the request of a dedicated fan. Brent Smith and the band performed “Junkies for Fame,” a bonus track from their 2008 album, Sound of Madness. This special moment happened during Anthony’s 102nd time seeing Shinedown live.
It was the first time in 18 years that they played “Junkies for Fame” on stage. Before starting the song, Smith acknowledged Anthony, saying, “We don’t do this for anyone. Anthony, you are the #1 tonight, my brother.” After the performance, Smith jumped down to hug Anthony, while drummer Barry Kerch handed him his drumsticks.
Shinedown shared the moment on Instagram, celebrating their loyal fans. “When a fan who’s been with us since 2003 has a song request at show #102, you make it happen!!!” they wrote. The band is currently on tour promoting their upcoming album, EI8HT, which will be released on May 29.
