Sam Fender and Olivia Dean have broken a long-standing U.K. chart record with “Rein Me In.” The song has spent 19 weeks at No. 1 on the U.K. Official Singles Chart. That beats a 73-year-old record. The previous record was 18 weeks, set in 1953 by Frankie Laine’s “I Believe.”
“Rein Me In” is a collaboration from Fender’s 2025 album People Watching. The version with Olivia Dean appears on the album’s deluxe edition. Fender thanked Dean and the fans after the milestone, saying he was “completely lost for words.”
The song also appears on U.S. radio, currently at No. 25 on the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart. Fans of both artists have been sharing clips and reactions online. The long run at No. 1 cements the track as one of the biggest U.K. hits in decades.
