Linda Perry ‘lost a lot of respect’ for Billie Joe Armstrong after their planned Green Day collaboration didn’t happen.

Linda Perry has opened up about her disappointment with Billie Joe Armstrong after a planned collaboration with Green Day fell through. In a recent interview, the 4 Non Blondes frontwoman revealed that Green Day had approached her to produce their follow-up to the hit album, American Idiot. Perry shared that she canceled six months of work to take on the project and even had a lengthy meeting with Armstrong, who expressed his admiration for her.

However, things took a turn when news of the collaboration leaked. Perry faced backlash due to her previous work with pop stars like Pink and Christina Aguilera. As a result, Green Day decided to go in a different direction, choosing Butch Vig to produce their next album, 21st Century Breakdown.

Perry expressed her frustration, saying that after the decision was made, she stopped hearing from the band. “I lost six months of scheduled work,” she said. She felt that Armstrong’s reaction to the backlash was weak and that not returning her calls was a disrespectful move. “I lost a lot of respect for Billie Joe,” she added.
