Listen to Mastodon’s Brann Dailor perform Chris Cornell’s song ‘Dead Wishes’

Mastodon’s Brann Dailor has recorded a cover of Chris Cornell’s song “Dead Wishes.” This track is from Cornell’s 2015 solo album, Higher Truth. The cover is part of the King Ultramega project, led by Mark Menghi of Metal Allegiance, to honor the late Soundgarden frontman. Drummer Kenny Aronoff also plays on the track.

Dailor expressed his excitement about the opportunity, saying, “It’s an incredible honor to be asked to cover one of Chris’s songs.” He initially hesitated, thinking he might embarrass himself. However, he saw it as a challenge and a chance to pay tribute to one of his favorite musicians.

King Ultramega also supports MusiCares, the charitable arm of the Recording Academy. This project not only celebrates Cornell’s legacy but also helps those in need in the music community.
