Sharon Osbourne has announced that a settlement has been reached regarding Black Sabbath’s early recordings when they were known as Earth. In 2025, it was revealed that Big Bear Recordings, started by the band’s early manager Jim Simpson, planned to release an album of these recordings. Sharon, who is the widow and manager of the late Ozzy Osbourne, shared that the band members did not want the Earth recordings to be released.
On a recent episode of The Osbournes Podcast, Sharon confirmed, “We settled with Jim Simpson and the band now have their demos back.” She emphasized that all four members of the band now own the recordings, stating, “All of that stuff should be theirs.” Sharon mentioned that they will discuss what to do with the recordings moving forward.
She also expressed gratitude towards Jim, saying, “Thank you to Jim, he did the right thing for the band.” In other news, Sharon revealed that tickets for the return of Ozzfest, set for 2027, will go on sale in November. The festival last took place on New Year’s Eve 2018, marking Ozzy’s final full live performance before the 2025 Back to the Beginning concert, where he performed solo and reunited with Black Sabbath. Sadly, Ozzy passed away just over two weeks after that concert at the age of 76.
