May 30 is a significant day in pop music history, marked by memorable events and chart-topping hits.

In 1970, Ray Stevens scored his first No. 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100, solidifying his place in music history. Fast forward to 1988, Bob Dylan released his 25th studio album, “Down in the Groove.” While it didn’t make the Top 40 in the U.S., it peaked at No. 32 in the U.K. with notable tracks. In 1998, Next’s hit reclaimed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100, highlighting its impact on R&B and pop.

In 2005, Oasis released “Don’t Believe the Truth,” which reached No. 1 in the U.K. and No. 12 in the U.S. Two singles from the album topped the U.K. Singles Chart. More recently, in 2020, Beyoncé’s remix of “Savage” with Megan Thee Stallion hit No. 1, marking Megan’s first chart-topper and Beyoncé’s seventh solo Top 40 hit. Looking ahead to 2025, Miley Cyrus is set to release her ninth studio album, “Something Beautiful,” featuring collaborations with Naomi Campbell and Brittany Howard.

May 30 has also seen cultural milestones. In 1964, The Beatles’ “A Hard Day’s Night” topped the U.S. charts, showcasing British music’s influence on American culture. In 1966, Dolly Parton married Carl Thomas Dean in a private ceremony. Remy Ma, born in 1980, became a key figure in hip-hop, while Celine Dion secured her 13th No. 1 hit in 2000. Lastly, in 2013, the Johnny Cash Museum opened in Nashville, celebrating the legendary artist’s lasting impact on music.
