Nine Inch Nails is set to release a 24-track soundtrack for Disney’s ‘TRON: Ares’ on September 19 through Interscope Records. This marks the band’s first new music in five years. Fans got a taste of what’s to come with the track “As Alive As You Need Me To Be,” featured in the film’s preview. The movie hits theaters on October 10.
This soundtrack is a significant milestone for Nine Inch Nails, as it is their first-ever film score. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have previously composed 20 scores under their own names, earning two Oscars, three Golden Globes, a GRAMMY®, and an Emmy. Now, they are stepping into new territory with this project.
The music captures the essence of the TRON universe, featuring tracks like “Forked Reality” and “Ghost in the Machine.” The collection concludes with a haunting finale titled “Shadow Over Me.” Each of the 24 tracks is filled with electronic energy, starting with the opening beats of “Init” and ending with the final notes of “Shadow Over Me.” The soundtrack reflects the film’s digital world perfectly.
Music stores are now taking pre-orders, allowing fans to enjoy the songs before the movie’s release in October. While this is their first collaborative score, Reznor and Ross are no strangers to creating impactful soundtracks that have changed the way we experience film music.
The band will kick off their new era with a show at Oakland Arena on August 6. Fans can look forward to an exciting blend of music and film as Nine Inch Nails continues to evolve.
