Five Finger Death Punch has done it again! Their new single, “I Refuse,” has just hit No. 1, marking their 12th consecutive time at the top. This brings their total number of No. 1 singles to 16. The track features guest vocals from Maria Brink of In This Moment and has made a big impact on various charts. It climbed to No. 15 on Billboard’s Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, reaching 2.3 million listeners.
Maria Brink shared her excitement on social media, saying, “We are excited to announce the unveiling of the new @5fdp song I Refuse. … We feel blessed to be a part of this.” “I Refuse” is a re-recorded version of a song from 2018 and is included in their compilation album, Best Of (Volume 1), released on July 18. The song is currently at No. 25 on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart and gained 370,000 streams in just one week from July 4 to 10. This new version brings fresh energy to the original track from And Justice for None.
Five Finger Death Punch’s last No. 1 single, “This Is the Way,” held the top spot for two weeks in June 2024. Since their first No. 1 hit, “Coming Down,” in 2012, the band has been on a roll. Their winning streak began with “Sham Pain” in 2018, setting a record for consecutive chart-toppers. Only two bands have more No. 1s in the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart’s 44-year history: Shinedown with 20 and Three Days Grace with 19.
For Maria Brink, this is a significant achievement. While her band reached No. 6 with “Oh Lord” in 2017, this is her first time topping any airplay chart.
