Mark Hoppus is set to present An Evening of Storytelling in Melbourne and Sydney next March. These shows will feature stories from his memoir, *Fahrenheit-182*, which was released earlier this year and hit number one on the New York Times Best Sellers list.
During the performances, Hoppus will share personal stories about growing up in the 1980s, his parents’ divorce, and the journey of building one of the biggest pop-punk bands of his time. He’ll also open up about his struggles with mental health and his cancer diagnosis from 2021.
The Melbourne Recital Hall will host shows on March 18 and 19, while the Sydney Opera House will have a performance on March 21.
Hoppus co-founded blink-182, a band that has sold over 50 million albums throughout their career. He has also played with other bands like +44 and Simple Creatures, and his music has been streamed billions of times.
In 2022, Tom DeLonge rejoined blink-182 after leaving in 2015. Matt Skiba from Alkaline Trio had filled in as lead singer during that time, and the band released two albums. The reunion surprised many fans who thought they would never see the original lineup together again.
These storytelling events give fans a chance to see Hoppus in a more personal setting, away from the large stadiums. His memoir covers his life before, during, and after his time with the band that dominated MTV and filled arenas around the world.
Australian fans can grab tickets to see Mark Hoppus through various ticketing websites.
