Avenged Sevenfold regains ownership of ‘The Stage’ masters after going fully independent.

Avenged Sevenfold has regained control of their album, The Stage. The band announced they have bought back the masters and rights to the 2016 release, which was originally under Capitol Records. This deal also includes the deluxe version of The Stage, featuring four live tracks recorded on the Capitol Records rooftop.

In a Facebook post, Avenged Sevenfold shared, “After 26 years, we are now a fully independent band. The Stage is now a part of that independence.” They noted that the album addressed themes like AI, political and social issues, simulation theory, and existentialism, which feel even more relevant today. The band is also excited about the upcoming 10-year anniversary of the album.

The Stage was the first album to feature drummer Brooks Wackerman and was released without any prior announcement. Since then, Avenged Sevenfold has released another album, Life Is But a Dream…, in 2023, and their latest single, “Magic,” came out in 2025. Fans can catch them on tour with Good Charlotte starting in July.
